Scott M. Eckers is an educator, entertainer, historian, and lifelong resident of East Meadow. He serves as a trustee on the East Meadow Board of Education. This is a lovely historical pictorial of East Meadow. So many people of our acquaintance are in this book - especially our dearest friend, Ernie Hatzelman, pictured on the cover. Ernie became the owner of The Meadow Dairy and everyone knew how great a deli that was. They made the best and largest sandwiches ever. You could make two from the one. If you come from the East Meadow area this is a must.read book.
Comprehensive and interesting book that was well-researched and a labor of love on the part of the author. Loaded with vintage photos and filled with facts about the history of the town. I love it!
Great history of the town on LI where I was raised.
I gave the book as a present to a friend who was delighted to learn about her town. She loved taking a walk down memory lane!

Having grown up in East Meadow, this book provided some interesting insights as to what life what like there before the post-WWII housing shortage that resulted in its suburbanization.
